The sediments left behind by the flooding of the River Isonzo enrich the soil of the fields along its course. And the vineyards of the Tenuta Borgo Conventi estate are nurtured by the mineral rich soil of the right bank of the river. Thanks to the varied microclimate of the area, in 1985 Borgo Conventi chose to plant vineyards of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Friulano, Sauvignon, Refosco dal peduncolo rosso, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Varieties of grapes that yield young fresh wines that recall the scents of wild flowers.
A MEANDERING EMERALD RIVER NURTURES THE VINEYARDS THAT GIVE THE “I FIORI DEL BORGO” WINES.

HERE YOU CAN STILL SENSE THE SCENT OF THE SEA. WAVES OF LUSH-GREEN VINES.
The friable rock of the Collio was once at the bottom of the sea. Now the layers of clay and sand flake away easily, and when you take a handful of soil you can sense the scent of the sea and see tiny fossils. You get the same sensation when tasting the whites produced on the Collio hills where our oldest vineyards grow, producing outstanding Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Ribolla Gialla, Friulano and Merlot.
